Tangy Sesame Sauce
A sweet-tangy sesame sauce made with brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, and vinegar.
Ingredients
Method
- Combine the brown sugar, oil, vinegar, mustard, and ketchup in a small saucepan.
- Cook over medium-low heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves and the sauce is smooth.
- Stir in or sprinkle with sesame seeds to taste. The original family card did not preserve an exact sesame-seed amount, so none is invented here.
- Use warm over crispy chicken, nuggets, or schnitzel strips.

Recipe #184
Yield: Makes about 1 1/2 cups

Helpful Notes
- Best with #176 Chinese Chicken, schnitzel strips, or nuggets.
- The mustard and vinegar keep this sauce brighter and tangier than the sweeter sesame sauce.
- Do not overcook; the sauce only needs to become smooth and cohesive.
